Penick Village Continuing Care Life Plan Community is seeking a
Driver/Scheduler to join our Resident Services team. The
Driver/Scheduler will coordinate transportation service and drive residents to and from various locations, while providing assistance to disabled passengers. This position teams with Lead Transportation Coordinator to provide safe and courteous transport service to Residents of the Community.
This is variable schedule full-time position. Weekend hours may be required. Purpose of Job Position: The purpose of this standard procedure is to provide safe and courteous transportation services
to residents of the community to and from various locations. As well as providing excellent
customer service and scheduling services to all Penick Village residents.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects vehicle to ensure that it is in a clean and operable condition; completes inspection paperwork/checklist; reports the need for service or repair to Lead Transportation Associate and ensures that vehicles are taken in for routine maintenance as required.
Transports residents to and from the doctor and all other scheduled appointments/and or errands in a safe and courteous manner.
Works with Resident Services Coordinator to plan scheduling and routing to and from medical appointments for residents. Routing daily trips in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
Resolves scheduling conflicts in collaboration with Part-time Driver and Healthcare Driver.
Carry designated work cell phone or device when transporting residents off campus. Turn the work cell phone on immediately upon reporting to work, answer calls and listen to voicemails, do not turn the cell off until scheduled clock-out time and only use your work cell phone for Penick Village business. Only use your cell phone when vehicles are in the parked position.
Assist the Life Enrichment Department as needed. Duties may include shuttling Independent Living residents by car or 14-Passenger bus to and from functions on/off campus. In Assisted Living, transport residents and a Life Enrichment team members by car or 14-Passenger bus to and from functions on/off campus. In Skilled Nursing, transporting residents and a Life Enrichment team member and aide by car or 14-Passenger bus to and from functions both on/off campus.
Assist residents to and from vehicle for safety purposes, this includes any assistive devices used by the resident such as walkers, rollator walkers, oxygen, wheelchairs, and any other devices used by residents.
Drivers must conduct a pre-trip check list each day before driving vehicles.
All traffic laws must be obeyed both on and off campus.
Take bank deposits and or petty cash checks (for cashing) to the bank for the Business Office and fill stamp orders at Southern Pines Post Office for Resident Services desk upon request.
Transport and schedule resident's out-of-town medical appointments, if necessary, coordinate and assign a driver, based on availability, and discuss billing with resident prior to transporting. The Resident Services Coordinator can advise when needed.

Required to transport residents around campus or to and from appointments and/or the hospital at any given time in a Penick Village vehicle. In addition, you must be able and willing to operate a 14-passenger bus after successful training. Penick Village
